Nepal Army on the lookout as protests grow strong in Jumla

JUMLA, Aug 10: The government has deployed Nepal Army personnel in the district amid protest demanding undivided Karnali zone raised by Jumla denizens on Monday.



District Administration Office, Jumla called for help from Nepal Army after the police could not take the demonstrators under control. Over a dozen NA personnel are on the look out following the DAO's request.

The protestors have objected to the deployment of the army personnel armed with weapons.


The demonstrators have vandalized four vehicles including that of police and padlocked the office of the administration.
Similarly, the protestors have vandalized over half dozen offices including Nepal Telecom, District Development Committee.

The district administration office has also suffered vandalization. The protestors exchanged bricks and stones with police after the former tried to cross the prohibited zone of the administration.
