This is the first time in the CNP's 45-year long history that women soldiers have been deployed for arranging security.
"Women soldiers have been deployed in the national park as per the policies of Nepal Army to include women in every sector within the organization," said Colonel Sanjay Deuja of Shreejung battalion.
Women soldiers have been patrolling the CNP for the last three months.
According to Nurendra Aryal, information officer at the CNP, 11 women soldiers deployed at the CNP have been carrying out their duties as assigned.
Col Deuja informed that women soldiers have been deployed at Kasara-based Prakriti Sikshalaya. They have been basically assigned for checking and guarding jobs. Women soldiers have to regularly go for patrolling and search operations.
Gradually, women soldiers will be deployed at check posts once the infrastructures are set up for them, according to Col Deuja.
Currently, the CNP has 55 security posts. Some of them have joint deployment of the CNP officials and Nepal Army while others are assigned to either the CNP staffers or the army.
