Dharan submetropolis dumps garbage along the bank of the Seuti River, which flows very close to Banjhara Community Forest.

The scrap collectors, who sift through the garbage, may have set fire to the garbage pile which than spread to other areas. Members of the community forest users group attributed the fire to the garbage pile.
