KATHMANDU, Aug 8: A joint team of the Armed Police Force Nepal's proposed Border Security Company and the Nepal Police recovered approximately 397 kg of marijuana on Friday.
The marijuana was found abandoned in the bushes near the Pokhair Canal at Mahadeva, Dakneshwori Municipality–5 in Saptari district. Acting on a special tip-off, a joint security team led by Armed Police Deputy Superintendent Narendra Singh Dhami was deployed to the area, where they found the marijuana packed in 17 bags.
Over 16 quintals of marijuana seized in Sarlahi
Similarly, around 32 kg of marijuana was recovered from the inner road section of Baladhusuwa in Pachrauta Municipality–9, Bara district on the same day. The marijuana, packed in four parcels and loaded on a bicycle, was found abandoned. The seizure was made by a security team from the APF base in Telkuwa under the command of Armed Police Sub-Inspector Sanjay Kumar Yadav.
The recovered marijuana has been handed over to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action, according to DSP Shailendra Thapa, assistant spokesperson.
