Aryal, central member of Nepali Congress (NC) has won with 16,102 votes. According to District Election Officer Ganesh Nayak, Aryal won by securing 5,287 votes.
His nearest rival Jai Ram Yadav of Janata Samajwadi party secured 10,824 votes. Yadav is Health Minister of the provincial government. Nayak informed Republica that 1,992 votes were declared invalid.
