Storm damages winter crops in Pokhara

GANDAKI, April 29: The storm, coupled with rainfall, has damaged winter crops in the Pokhara Valley and vicinity.

Two weeks back, the hailstorm that took place during the evenings destroyed cucumbers and watermelons, while the storm that occurred recently damaged maize farming. 


Some farmers also lost livestock due to lightning.


Owner of Tikhedhunga Livestock and Agriculture Farm, Ramesh Acharya, informed that lightning struck a buffalo to death on Tuesday. He had begun livestock farming but was dismayed by the natural disaster that had befallen him lately.


He demanded that the government pay heed to the problems facing farmers like him.
