NC Prez Deuba nominates 10 female Central Working Committee members

KATHMANDU, August 16: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has nominated 10 women leaders of the party as Central Working Committee members.

KATHMANDU, August 16: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has nominated 10 women leaders of the party as Central Working Committee members.


President Deuba nominated Kiran Yadav (Mahottari), Radha Ghale (Kathmandu), Dhana Khatiwada (Lalitpur), Urmila Thapaliya (Dhading), Rukmini Koirala (Morang), Kalyani Rijal (Kathmandu), Goma Bhattarai (Jhapa), Ganga Shahi (Rupandehi), Laxmi Khatiwada (Sunsari), and Sita Devkota (Nawalpur) as the party’s CWC members.

NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel in a press statement issued on Tuesday said that President Deuba nominated them as CWC members according to the party's statute. According to the NC statute, 33 percent members of the CWC should be women. The women leaders have been nominated as the party’s CWC members as the NC’s CWC body does not yet have 33 percent representation of women.
