KATHMANDU, Nov 15: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba returned home on Friday after completing his medical treatment in Singapore. He had flown there on October 27, accompanied by his wife, Arzu Rana Deuba.
Deuba and his wife were injured during the Gen Z protest on September 9, when protesters attacked them. After receiving initial treatment in Nepal, the couple made their first public appearance on October 14. Deuba later attended the party’s Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting, after which he handed over his responsibilities to Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka and left for Singapore for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the NC CWC has yet to decide whether to hold the party’s general convention as scheduled or call a special convention, and whether it should take place before or after the upcoming elections. Leaders say the committee has been meeting daily but has failed to reach a conclusion due to differing proposals and internal disagreements.
With Deuba’s return, party leaders expect the leadership to arrive at a clear decision.
