KATHMANDU, Oct 27: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba along with his wife and former foreign minister Arjzu Deuba is set to leave for Singapore on Monday night for further medical treatment.
Deuba couple will depart for Singapore at 9 PM, according to a senior party leader familiar with the matter.
NC Prez Deuba off to Singapore for regular health check-up
The former PM has been under treatment after he and his wife were assaulted at their Budhanilkantha residence on September 9 during the second day of the Gen Z protest. Security personnel had rescued the couple and rushed them to a military hospital for immediate care.
NC leaders, who met Deuba after the attack, had informed the media that Deuba had received 12 stitches to his neck and head following the attack. He has largely remained away from the public eye since the incident, making his first brief appearance only on October 14 at the party’s central office.
On the same day, Deuba designated NC Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka as the acting party president.
