Speaking at an interaction entitled 'National Youth Council and Way Ahead' organized by Youth Advocacy Nepal (YAN) in Kathmandu on Friday, Madhav Dhungel, president of National Youth Council, said that newly formed council would work to encourage youths to take up entrepreneurship for country's economic development.He also vowed to take initiative for providing educational loans to youths. "The council will give priority to plans for implementing programs on education, employment, sports, health, sports and social security services for youths," added Dhungel.
Also speaking at the event, Radha Ghale, coordinator of the Interparty Youth Network, said that the council should work for implementation of 'Youth Vision 2020'.
Shiba Phuyal, vice president of Young Communist League, said that the council should work for the welfare of all youths across the country rather than serving interests of any particular party.
Similarly, Kamal Subedi, chairman of Youth NGO Federation, opined that Youth Self-Employment Fund should be integrated into the council.
YAN President Narendra Khatiwada called for transparency and accountability of the council to meet various aspirations of youths across the country.
