National grid witnesses loss of 22 MW produced by Chilime

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: At the time when demand for electricity is in peak following fuel shortage due  to blockade by India, the national grid has witnessed loss of 22 Megawatts electricity produced by Chilime Hydropower Project.

The supply from the hydropower was halted after high tension wire snapped at Ramche, Rasuwa on Sunday morning.

“Problem emerged after the wire of national transmission line split,” CEO Ram Gopal Shiwakoto told Republica, “There is no problem from our side and electricity supply is normal at local level.”

The power authority said technicians have been mobilized to repair the transmission line and the task will conclude by this evening.
