KATHMANDU, April 12: The Muslim Association Nepal (MAN) has said that it will hit the streets against the curtailment of leaves granted by the government in honor of religions, cultures of Muslims, indigenous nationalities and other communities.
Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, the MAN, a sister organization of the Nepali Congress, said so following a meeting, adding that it would join hands with indigenous nationalities and other communities to intensify protests as part of a pressure on the government to reinstate leaves as they have roots in the cultures and religions of various communities.
The MAN is holing a national convention of the association on April 28 in the capital. The Convention will be inaugurated by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at the central party headquarters in Sanepa.

The representatives are coming to Kathmandu to take part in the Convention. The party office bearers have started dwelling on the selection of future leadership of the association.
The convention will also discuss ways on how the NC will secure the highest number of seats in the next general elections among others, said MAN Chairman Abdul Satar.
Over 43 representatives from 43 districts will take part in the convention. The leadership elected by the convention will have a two-year term.
