Maoists seek clarification from absent lawmakers

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: The parliamentary party of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (UCPN-M) has sought clarifications from 10 of its lawmakers who were absent during the sixth round of voting for prime minister on Sunday.



“We have asked them to clarify why they were absent during the voting,” said Maoist Vice-chairman Narayankaji Shrestha.



Those who were absent during the voting Sunday were Hisila Yami, Angdawa Sherpa, Chun Bahadur Thami, Tara Narayan Shrestha, Durga Kumar BK, Lila Devi Mehta, Bishwadeep Lingden, Satya Pahari, Hem Bahadur Shrestha and Mani Khumbu.



The party has also strictly directed the lawmakers to be present during the seventh round of voting slated for Tuesday.
