KHOTANG, June26: Police on Sunday arrested Umesh Chhetri on charge of attempting to acquire citizenship card from the District Administration Office, Khotang, by producing fake personnel records. Thirty-years-old Chhetri, had allegedly tried to obtain citizenship card by showing personal record of non-existing individual. According to the Chief District Officer, Prakash Subedi the accused Chhetri was arrested after he tried to falsify a copy of a citizenship certificate that was unregistered in the DAO.
