Dil Kumar Khadka, 28, of Jaljala-5, Chudkhurung in the district who was staying at the hotel for the last two days died when the IED went off as he returned to his room for rest after lunch at 10 in the morning. [break]
Inspector at Chainpur Police Office Dil Bahadur Subedi suspected that Khadka could have been carrying the IED and added that there was little chance of others planting the IED in his room. Police, however, said an unidentified friend of Khadka´s who had come to the room with him has been absconding after the incident.
A student at Janta Campus, Itahari in Sunsari, Khadka had reportedly gone to Chainpur to meet his relatives. His body has been kept at Primary Health Center in Chainpur for autopsy.
