KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Police arrested 36-year-old Suklal Maharjan of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-12 with 195 kilograms of marijuana in Birgunj Metropolitan City-19, Parsa on Saturday night. Maharjan was caught while unloading the marijuana from a truck numbered (Ba Pra 03-001 Kha 3587) and attempting to hide it in a straw pile before fleeing. Officers from the Area Police Office, Pokhariya, apprehended him at the scene, according to a bulletin from the Central Police News Room.
In related operations, law enforcement conducted several drug seizures across the country. In Rautahat, Prachanda Bahadur Thapa, 34, was arrested in Chandrapur Municipality-4 with one gram of a substance resembling brown heroin. Similarly, in Bardiya, Krishna Thapa, 19, was apprehended in Mainapokhari Bazaar, Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-6, with 2.96 kilograms of hashish.

Similarly, Jagdish Bhatta, 29, was arrested in Godavari Municipality-1, Kailali, where police discovered 73 grams of hashish during a shop search. Additionally, in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Kailali, two individuals, Abhishek Basuwa and Bishnu Gurung, both 22, were arrested with 190 milligrams of brown heroin.
