Malaria outbreak in Baitadi

BAITADI, Aug 30: Malaria outbreak is increasing in some of the VDCs of lower Sorad area in Baitadi district.



According to Kesharpur Primary Health Center, Melauli, 20 persons have been found suffering from Malaria. [break]



Chief at the Center Narayan Chand said they are compelled to refer the patients to other health centers due to lack of medicines used for the treatment of Malaria affected patients.



Strong type of Malaria has been found at Shivanath, Melauli, Bishalpur and Maharudra VDCs. Blood sample collection has been started from Monday, informed Chand.



The District Health Office, Baitadi has demanded medicines from Kathmandu after its shortage at the Regional Health Directorate, said Chief at the Office, Gunraj Awasti.



Health workers advised that one could be safe from Malaria by wearing clothes covering whole body and using mosquito net.
