Around 50 shops of pan leaves, grocery, medicine, sweets and hotels remained closed for three days after the joint monitoring team that included representatives of the District Administration Office, District Police Office, the Jaleshwor Municipality Office intensified the market supervision to control irregularities in shops within the municipality.
The team has seized substandard and rotten food items worth hundreds of thousands of rupees and destroyed.
The team assured that it will urge the business entrepreneurs to open their shops and take action against those who promote illegal trade in the local market.
Similarly, the team sealed Durga Chowk based Manakamana Drug Stall saying it did not allow the team to monitor the stall.
The team also sealed Shubhakamana Medical Hall of Durgachowk, Jaleshwor-5, after the owner of the drug house misbehaved the members of the team during the supervision.
