After a two-day long meeting in Rajbiraj, the alliance of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN), Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP), Sadbhavana Party (SP) and Tarai Madhes Sadbhavana Party Nepal (TMSPN) declared further protest programs.
The alliance, which had boycotted voting on Constitution Bill and has been staging more than a month-long protest against the constitution, has said that peaceful, non-violent protests will continue.
The agitating forces have also decided to file cases at the Supreme Court against the excessive use of force by the security forces to suppress their protests. Accusing the government of violating international humanitarian laws and orchestrating crimes against humanity, the parties have claimed that they would also take their case to the International Criminal Court.
In order to expand the alliance, a committee comprising of Rajendra Prasad Shrestha, Govinda Chaudhary, Manish Kumar Suman and Ram Naresh Yadav has been formed. The alliance has decided to align its protest programs with that of Tharuhat Joint Struggle Committee, Muslim Struggle Committee, and others.
"The government has been ignoring our call to withdraw curfew and Nepal Army patrol teams from various districts. Under the scenario, talks with the government are impossible. The government is calling us for talks only to appease the international community," FSFN chief Upendra Yadav said at the press conference.
Meanwhile, the Tharuhat Joint Struggle Committee has said the government has ignored their 7-point demand for starting negotiations and urged the government to fulfill their demands to create environment for the talks.
