KATHMANDU, Sept 27: The four-day spell of continuous rainfall is expected to gradually weaken from Sunday, meteorologist Binod Pokharel has said.
Pokharel said rain could continue in some areas until Sunday afternoon, but the possibility of heavy rainfall has almost ended.

“The four-day spell of rain is finally coming to an end today. Although some places may still receive rain until the afternoon, the possibility of heavy rainfall is almost over,” Pokharel said in a social media post.
Heavy rainfall has triggered floods and landslides and disrupted roads in several parts of the country. However, Pokharel said timely dissemination of weather information, along with active coordination among the concerned agencies, helped prevent major disasters.
He said early warnings about the heavy rainfall reached the public in time, helping reduce the potential loss of lives and property.
Pokharel also urged people to continue taking precautions and remain safe.
