KATHMANDU, Sept 8: The safe recovered from an unidentified group at Matatirtha in Chandragiri Municipality-1, by the police contained Rs 25,000.



The safe is found to have stolen from Santaneshwor Savings and Credit Co-operatives Limited, Bajrabarahi, Lalitpur.

According to Area Police Office, Chapagaun, a safe was stolen from Santaneshwor Savings and Credit Co-operatives Limited on Thursday morning.


DSP Shyam Chandragiri, Chapagaun Police, had wondered if the safe left behind by the unidentified group belonged to the Co-operatives. He and his team went for further investigation to conclude that the safe belonged to the Co-operatives as it could be opened by the key provided by an officer at the Co-operatives.


A huge number of security personnel have been deployed in Kalimati, Thankot, Kritipur, Balambu, and Matatirtha to nab the absconding armed gang.


According to SP Pradhum Karki, police have identified the owner of the Tata Sumo jeep (Na 1 Ja 3948) as Ganga Tamang. The owner and the Garage Manager have been held for investigation.
