Lisa Choegyal awarded for strengthening Nepal-NZ relationship

KATHMANDU, May 31: Honorary Consul of New Zealand in Nepal, Lisa Choegyal, has been awarded with New Zealand Order of Merit for her contribution to further New Zealand-Nepal relations.

KATHMANDU, May 31: Honorary Consul of New Zealand in Nepal, Lisa Choegyal, has been awarded with New Zealand Order of Merit for her contribution to further New Zealand-Nepal relations. Choegyal, who is also a local tourism operator, received the award from New Zealand Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy amidst an event in Government House in Wellington on May 17.

Choegyal has been serving as New Zealand's Honorary Consul in Nepal since 2010. Choegyal was also honored for her work in advancing sustainable tourism, mountain rescue and conservation of heritage sites in Nepal, and for promoting the welfare of Nepali communities by raising scholarship funds for education opportunities.
