Thapa, who had taken the charge of Nepali national team repeatedly, informed that he signed a contract with MMC on Friday afternoon. Under the contract, Thapa would be entitled to a monthly salary of Rs 40,000 and a travel allowance of Rs 10,000 per month.[break]
"The duty would be a challenge for me more than a salary issue," said Thapa.
Thapa said the MMC duty would be a challenge for any coach. "Coaching a top level team like MMC, which has been winning several trophies and finishing within top three of leagues repeatedly, is a challenge and I am prepared to accept it," said Thapa.
Thapa said that his major task is to win the Martyrs Memorial League and National League in the upcoming season as well as to perform well in the tournaments like Ncell Cup in near future.
"The club has already registered 16 players at All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), and five foreign players are awaiting registration," said Thapa. "However, I have asked for at least 30 players in the team to maintain fitness level during the leagues," he added.
Thapa said that MMC would be a balanced team in the upcoming season. "We have experienced players like Nabin Neupane and Anil Gurung and seven boys from the U-22 team that participated in the AFC U-22 Championship Qualifiers recently held in Kathmandu," said Thapa, who was the coach of the Nepali U-22 team.
