Amid a program held in capital on Thursday, Hyungkyoo Kim, country director of KOICA, and Mahendra Bahadur Shrestha, chief of Policy, Planning and International Cooperation Division at the MoHP, signed the memorandum. As per the agreement, the KOICA will provide an aid of US$ 8.4 million for the project.
A press statement issued by KOICA Nepal office said that the main objectives of the project is to revive the public health service in Nuwakot district and to normalize health services by restructuring health facilities. The program will be executed in two phases. In the first phase, six health posts will be erected using prefabricated materials. The district hospital wil be constructed in the second phase.
The first phase will be completed by the first half of 2016 and the second phase by September, 2018. "Both phase involve activities for strengthening health information management and improving capacity of health workers," reads the statement.
