KATHMANDU, Jan 24: KMC Group has officially inaugurated Best Western Plus Kathmandu, introducing the globally renowned American hospitality brand to Nepal for the first time.
Located conveniently near Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) and the iconic Pashupatinath Temple, the hotel offers a harmonious blend of contemporary amenities and traditional Nepali hospitality, catering to both leisure and business travelers. The property boasts 84 elegantly designed rooms, including suites, premium, and deluxe categories, all equipped with modern facilities and ergonomic workspaces to ensure a comfortable and efficient stay.

According to a press statement from KMC Group, the hotel offers easy access to Kathmandu's cultural landmarks, major attractions, and business hubs. Guests can indulge in exceptional dining experiences at the Sunrise Café and La Vista Rooftop Restaurant, each accommodating up to 140 guests and serving a variety of local and international cuisine. The rooftop bar offers stunning city views, while the hotel’s versatile event spaces can host up to 1,000 guests, making it an ideal venue for conferences, corporate events, and social gatherings.
For fitness and wellness enthusiasts, the hotel features a fully equipped gym, spa, steam room, sauna, and an outdoor pool, providing ample opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. Spread across nearly one acre, the property also includes a private dining room, a board meeting room, a souvenir shop, a travel desk, and foreign currency exchange services.
Best Western Plus Kathmandu emphasizes sustainable tourism practices by incorporating energy-efficient systems and using locally sourced materials, all while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. “With an investment of Rs 1.5 billion, the hotel marks a significant milestone in Nepal’s hospitality sector. It aims to promote Nepal’s rich cultural heritage through local art, cuisine, and customs, while contributing to the national economy by attracting international tourists and boosting foreign currency earnings,” the statement added.
Operated by a public limited company, Best Western Plus Kathmandu plans to go public through an IPO in the near future. The hotel also envisions expanding its services to other major destinations across Nepal, further strengthening the country’s tourism and hospitality industry.
