KES, Pennwood win basketball titles

KATHMANDU:Kathmandu English School (KES) and Pennwood Academy on Friday won the boys´ and girls´ titles of the Fourth PABSON Central Regional Basketball Tournament held in the capital. KES edged past defending champion Pennwood 48-42 in the boys´ final held at the HEMS court in Ratopul.



Susan Sunuwar netted the highest 13 points for the winning team. In the girls´ final, Pennwood defended its title with a comfortable 28-8 win over Suryodaya English School.[break]



 Priya Lama scored 14 points for Pennwood. Ananda Bhumi took the third place in the boys´ category beating Asian Public School 47-28, while KES secured third place in the girls´ category beating Maitidevi Boarding School 15-11. Bimal Thapa Magar of KES and Priya Lama of Pennwood won the most valuable player awards in the boys´ and girls´ section respectively.
