Int'l conference on digital crime to be held in Kathmandu

The conference will be attended by researchers, criminologists, AI experts, prosecutors, legal experts, and judges from countries including Nepal, India, China, Sri Lanka, and the UK, with discussions on technology-based sexual violence and abuse, cybercrime, cryptocurrency and digital economic crimes, and crimes committed using AI.

KATHMANDU, Feb 26:  A two-day international conference on digital crime control is to be held in the capital from Thursday, organized by the Office of the Attorney General. The international conference is to be attended by representatives from 13 countries.


The conference will discuss digital crime, its trends, investigation and justice. The conference is being organized with the aim of international experience exchange and institutional capacity improvement.

Experts participating in the conference will present working papers on the concept of 'Crimes of the Digital Age: Anticipation and Response'. Likewise, the conference aims to address the increasing number of technology-based crimes and the challenges they pose to society.


The conference will be attended by researchers, criminologists, AI experts, prosecutors, legal experts, and judges from countries including Nepal, India, China, Sri Lanka, and the UK, with discussions on technology-based sexual violence and abuse, cybercrime, cryptocurrency and digital economic crimes, and crimes committed using AI.
