The technical committee presented its reports to the special committee on Thursday, said Chief Secretary and Spokesperson for the committee Madhav Prasad Ghimire. "The next meeting will revise the suggestions made by the technical committee," Ghimire told journalists after the meeting.
According to Ghimire, the next meeting of the special committee will finalize the reports. The day of the meeting is yet to be set.
The reports suggest a civilian mechanism comprising serving bureaucrats, ex-army and police personnel and combatants from each cantonment to supervise the activities of the combatants who are staying in 28 cantonments monitored by the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN).
A source told myrepublica.com that the Special Committee directed to the Technical committee members to abide by the code of conduct that prohibits them from talking to the press any matter concerning their works. "The technical committee is dealing with very crucial and serious issue. Any leaking of any immature information may affect the committee´s work," the source said on condition of anonymity.
