Indian youth goes missing after jumping into river to make TikTok video

KAPILVASTU, June 25: An Indian national has gone missing after jumping into the river to make a video for TikTok in Kapilbastu. As of Tuesday night, he had not been located after jumping from the Beti River dam in Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality-6, Gaur.

According to the Area Police Office, Pakadi, a 21-year-old Ishaq Muslim from Aligarh, Siddharthnagar district in India, had gone to the Beti River around 4 p.m. on Monday with two of his friends to bathe.


During that time, he jumped into the river from the dam, saying he wanted to make a TikTok video. His friends were recording a video of the incident.


Police Inspector Kamal Kshetri informed that a joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police has been continuing the search operation since the incident.


"Even after searching all day on Monday and Tuesday, he has not been found," said Inspector Kshetri. "The search is still ongoing."


It is understood that the missing youth, Ishaq, had gone to the river along with his friends, 16-year-old Subhan Muslim and 15-year-old Surat Teli.
