Indian officials detain Nepalis

KANCHANPUR, Aug 4: The Indian forests security officials have detained two locals of Sistabasti on the charge of illegal logging.



Tika Kami and Prakash Sarki, who were heading toward New Delhi for employment, were detained from bordering Sumerunagar bus park, Secretary of the Janajagaran Community Forests, Bharat Bahadur Bista said.



Indian security personnel have charged them of stealing wood from the Dudhuwa National Park six months ago and have asked them to pay a fine of Rs 40,000, Bista said.



Locals of Sistabasti have urged the local administration to take initiative to release the duo in Indian custody for the past four days.
