Indian Ambassador Srivastava falls ill while hiking near Kathmandu, airlifted to hospital

The ambassador reportedly felt altitude related sickness during the hike. A Nepali Army (NA) helicopter was immediately deployed to evacuate him and provide medical attention.

KATHMANDU, Dec 12: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava fell ill while hiking at Champadevi hill on the outskirts of Kathmandu on Saturday. He was airlifted to a hospital in the capital for treatment, according to police sources.

The ambassador reportedly felt altitude related sickness during the hike. A Nepali Army (NA) helicopter was immediately deployed to evacuate him and provide medical attention.


“He reportedly fell ill during the hike and was brought to Kathmandu by helicopter and admitted to a hospital,” a police source said. Sources said his condition is now normal.
