Ganga Maya said she may face the same fate as her husband if the government makes further delay in giving her justice.
"She drew the attention of the authorities concerned toward the situation," said a statement issued by the National Human Rights Commission on Wednesday.
A team from the commission led by its chairman Anup Raj Sharma had visited Ganga Maya at Bir Hospital, where she has been staging fast-unto-death.
The NHRC team led by Sharma reached the hospital to enquire about her condition.
"Chairman Sharma stressed that the culprits must be brought to book and he pledged support to provide justice to the Adhikari family," read the statement.
The NHRC investigated the issue seven years ago and in its report suggested to the government to take action against the murderers of Adhikari couple's son under criminal offence.
The erstwhile government had committed to take action as per the NHRC's recommendation. "The commission urges the government to implement its commitment in this connection," it said.
