Host of launches at Samsung Forum 2012

BANGKOK, March 21: Samsung Electronics unveiled new series of Smart TV, mobile handset and other household electronics at the Samsung Forum 2012 organized recently in Thai capital of Bangkok.



Company officials said the newly launched products were targeted at the customers of South West Asia and will be available in the Nepali market within three months. [break]



In the event, Samsung launched Galaxy Beam mobile phone, Series 9 notebook, top-loaded washing machine, LED monitor and smart camera. All these series are already available in the India and are expected to arrive in the domestic market very soon.



Samsung Galaxy Beam, which is powered by 1 GHz dual-core processor, has 4-inch display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. It has 8 GB internal storage with a microSD slot that supports up to 32AGB memory, runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and sports 5 MP rear camera. The new phone also has 1.3 MP front camera for video calling.







“Galaxy Beam will provide mobile freedom, enabling a unique shared experience around digital content for everyone, anywhere and instantly -- from a smartphone as slim and portable as any in the market,” Ranjait Yadav, country head -- mobile and IT at Samsung India Electronics.



Series 9 notebook is the world´s thinnest and most compact premium notebook, according to Udhay Bhat, director of Samsung´s IT Business for India.



The Series 9 notebook features MaxScreen technology, which minimizes the size while maximizing the screen size by an extra inch, according to a statement. It is powered by Intel Core i7 processor and has 8GB RAM and battery backup of 10 hours.



Samsung has also launched Wi-Fi enabled smart camera. Samsung WB850F comes with 21x zoom capability. “The Wi-Fi Direct feature in the camera lets users upload and share their photographs and videos right from the camera,” the statement said. Social networking sites like Facebook, Picasa and YubeTube have been integrated in the device.



The camera also has the SplitShot feature that allows users to click three separate pictures divided across the display and blend them together.



“We ensure that by the help of this smart camera, people of all age groups can take full advantage of wireless world -- anytime and anywhere,” said Bhat.



Similarly, top-loading washing machine features Samsung´s vibrate 3D technology. Samsung´s top-loading washing machine distinguishes itself from other products available in the market, said Mahesh Krishna, vice president-home appliances, Samsung India Electronics.



Samsung has also launched smart TV for consumers in the South West Asia region. Users can control this TV through voice or motion commands without touching the remote control, according to Samsung officials.
