In this connection, the EC briefed Prime Minister Sushila Karki about the progress made so far regarding the elections announced for coming March 5.

The code of conduct has clearly stipulated what activities government and non-government organizations can undertake and what roles political parties and stakeholders should play to ensure a fair election.

EC spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed that acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari briefed the Prime Minister on Friday about the preparations made so far for the election, printing of election materials, and human resource management.

The EC has a belief that the government and heads of concerned stakeholders have a key role in strictly enforcing the code of conduct.
