Home Minister directs IGP Kunwar to take strict action against those attacking police personnel

Minister Lekhak summoned high-ranking police officials, including Police Chief Kunwar, to the Home Ministry on Wednesday morning, where he expressed serious concern over the incidents.

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has instructed Inspector General of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar to investigate and bring to justice the individuals responsible for recent assaults and mistreatment of police personnel on duty.  


Minister Lekhak summoned high-ranking police officials, including Police Chief Kunwar, to the Home Ministry on Wednesday morning, where he expressed serious concern over the incidents. He emphasized the need for immediate action, stating that such assaults on police personnel, who are tasked with maintaining peace and security, must not be tolerated.

Minister Kunwar urged the police to be more proactive in ensuring law and order, especially given the published reports of mistreatment of security personnel in some areas in recent days.  


"I have instructed that those involved in these incidents be held accountable through the legal process," Minister Lekhak said, "Anyone who disrupts peace and security or attacks officers responsible for protecting society will be brought to justice."
