Heatwave alert: MFD warns of rising temperatures

The MFD has advised the public to remain alert as hot air waves might hit the places. Recently, the temperature has been rising across the country.

KATHMANDU, April 23: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged the public to remain cautious as there is a possibility of a heatwave due to rising temperatures.


The MFD has advised the public to remain alert as hot air waves might hit the places. Recently, the temperature has been rising across the country.

Meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane mentioned that the maximum temperature recorded in the Terai region has reached over 40 degrees Celsius. He added that in the Madhesh Province, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim, temperatures have exceeded 38 degrees.


According to the MFD, the temperature is expected to rise for the next two days. Recently, the possibility of a heatwave in Nepal has increased. Since a heatwave can even lead to fatalities, it is essential to take precautions.
