"As the country has witnessed a rise in the number of coronavirus cases in recent days, all kinds of gatherings, conferences and marches that draw large crowds should be prohibited. Accordingly, we have asked the CDOs to take the necessary initiatives in line with the Infectious Disease Act," Gautam said.

According to Spokesperson Gautam, Nepal recorded 162 new cases of COVID-19 in the past one day.

Sixty-seven new cases of the coronavirus were recorded in the Kathmandu Valley in the past one day. Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts saw 50, 13 and four new cases of the coronavirus, respectively.

There are currently 493 active cases of the coronavirus in the country, according to Spokesperson Gautam.
