"We are yet to receive an official letter from ANFA on the matter but we learnt about our relegation through media. During its match against Mahabir Club in the B division football league on Friday, Gyan Bhairav had walked out in the 84th minute expressing dissatisfaction towards referee´s decision. ANFA has also alleged seven players of the club for their involvement in manhandling the match referee.
ANFA relegated the B division club to C division for the offence and imposed a fine of Rs 75,000. All seven players allegedly involved in manhandling referee were handed ban for 1 to 2 years and three officials including KC were also banned for a year.
KC also claimed that the punishment was the result of old rivalry between Sano Gaucharan and Gyan Bhairav Club. Gyan Bhairav was formed after it split with Sano Gaucharan, which is lead by current ANFA treasurer Birat Jung Shahi. KC also said that there is no point in playing football if the punishment is not withdrawn.
Meanwhile, at a separate function, ANFA President Ganesh Thapa said that the club was not relegated for manhandling the referee but for leaving the match without playing for full time.
"It is clearly mentioned in ANFA regulation that any team which leaves the field without playing for the full time will be relegated. The regulation was approved by the representatives of club"
