Gurung charges govt with jeopardizing national independence

CHITWAN, Nov 6: CPN-Maoist Secretary Dev Gurung said on Tuesday the current government has put the country’s national independence at risk and demanded the exit of the government.

 

Addressing a function organized by All Nepal Teachers Association Nepal here in the district, Gurung accused the current Baburam Bhattarai-led government of working against national interests getting under the influence of imperialists. [break]

 

“The agents, bureaucrats, imperialists and capitalists in Nepal are encouraging foreign interference in the country, “ Gurung charged, adding his party will wage stir against such tendency after the party’s general convention.



Stating that without keeping domestic production and investment in priority, there cannot be an independent national economy, Gurung said his party would move ahead espousing radical changes on those fronts.
