KATHMANDU, March 21: The government is set to organize the first National Water Conference 2025 on Saturday. The Water and Energy Commission Secretariat announced the event during a press conference in Kathmandu on Friday.
The two-day conference, scheduled for March 22-23, aims to ensure the sustainable management and development of Nepal’s water resources. Speaking at the press meet, commission spokesperson Kalanidhi Poudyal emphasized the need to mitigate the impacts of climate change while expanding local, national, and international partnerships for water resource utilization.

He highlighted that addressing challenges related to water resources and climate requires collective efforts. The government is committed to implementing sustainable water management and climate adaptation strategies.
The conference will provide a platform for experts to discuss the multiple uses of water in driving economic and social transformation. It will also focus on transboundary water cooperation and challenges in water resource management.
