The members of the committee include Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security Krishna Hari Pushkar, Secretary at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration Rabi Lal Panth, and Foreign Secretary Amrit Kumar Rai, among others.
The government's decision to form a high-level probe committee comes in the wake of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) obstructing the parliament session, demanding the formation of the committee to investigate the visit visa scandal. The party has also demanded resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in connection with the scandal.
