Gold, silver prices continue to riseKATHMANDU, Dec 24: The prices of gold and silver have continued to rise in local markets over the past few days, with both metals posting further gains today.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmark gold has reached Rs 268,100 per tola, while silver is trading at Rs 4,420 per tola—both hitting record highs.
Gold and silver prices remain steady
Last Sunday, gold was priced at Rs 258,300 per tola and silver at Rs 4,105 per tola. On Monday, prices climbed significantly, with gold reaching Rs 261,700 per tola and silver Rs 4,235. On Tuesday, gold surged to Rs 267,200 per tola, while silver traded at Rs 4,255 per tola.
Analysts attribute the rising prices to the strengthening US dollar. In international markets today, one ounce of gold is trading at USD 4,525, while an equivalent amount of silver is priced at USD 73, according to global news agencies.
