Gold prices plunge by record Rs 20,500

Gold, which was priced at Rs 339,300 per tola on Thursday, fell to Rs 318,800 per tola today, registering a record one-day drop of Rs 20,500.

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Gold and silver prices tumbled sharply in local markets on Friday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Traders’ Association.



Gold, which was priced at Rs 339,300 per tola on Thursday, fell to Rs 318,800 per tola today, registering a record one-day drop of Rs 20,500.

Silver also saw a decline, dropping from Rs 7,505 per tola yesterday to Rs 7,065 per tola today, a decrease of Rs 440.


International media reported that gold is trading at $537 per ounce, while silver is priced at $117 per ounce.
