KATHMANDU, May 14: A gas leak caused a fire in Makhan Tole, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-24, killing one woman.
Apilraj Bohora, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kathmandu, said that the fire broke out due to a gas leak in the four-story house of Dayaram Shrestha, resulting in the death of one person. The police have not yet identified the deceased. Bohora stated, "The gas leak caused the fire. The body of the deceased has been found, but identification is still pending."

In addition to Shrestha's house, a five-story house belonging to Rukesh Shrestha, located next to it, also caught fire. The police confirmed that they have brought the fire under control.
According to DSP Krishna Chand of the Nepal Police, the fire, which was caused by a gas leak, was brought under control after about three hours. Authorities are currently collecting details on the damage caused by the fire.
