KATHMANDU, Aug 19: A hearing on the writ filed by Kamini Rajbhandari, former Nepal Telecom's Managing Director is scheduled for today at the Supreme Court. A single bench of Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana will conduct the hearing.
On August 14, the KP Sharma Oli led government had sacked Rajbhandari following a decision from the cabinet of ministers. The first female head of NTC, Rajbhandari was accused of failing to produce 'convincing' response sought by the government over NTC's performance and progress. On June 10, the Cabinet sought her clarification on her handing the 12-point instruction related to improving NT’s services and quality.

In the writ filed on August 14, Rajbhandari had asked the goverment to reinstate her as the Managing Director of the state owned telecommunication company. Rajbhandari was appointed by the Pushpa Kamal Dahal led government on 2016.
