KATHMANDU, Jan 23: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the country is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system and that the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim, Gandaki and Karnali provinces. Furthermore, fog can be seen in many parts of the Terai.
According to the department, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas of Karnali, Sudurpaschim, Gandaki, Lumbini and Koshi provinces this afternoon and clear in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of light rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim Province. In addition, there is a possibility of snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous parts of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Gandaki and Koshi provinces.

Some places in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim province might experience light rainfall in the next 24 hours. Besides, there is a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Karnali, Sudurpaschim and Gandaki provinces, while fog can be seen in many places in the Terai, which may affect daily life, agriculture, health, transport and air flights. The department has requested all concerned to be vigilant.
