Five members appointed to Nepal Medical Council

Minister Paudel has appointed five vacant members to the Council in accordance with the eighth amendment to the Government of Nepal's Performance Regulations, which stipulates that appointments other than full-time office bearers are to be made by the concerned minister.

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel has appointed five members to the Nepal Medical Council.


Minister Paudel made a ministerial decision to this effect on Friday. 


Prof Dr Paleswan Joshi Lakhe and Prof Dr Anand Sharma have been appointed from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Tribhuvan University.

Similarly, from among the deans, Manoj Humagain, Dean of the School of Medical Sciences, Kathmandu University, has been appointed as a member of the council.


Likewise, Dr Santosh Rajbhandari has been appointed as a member from the private sector and Rameshwor Adhikari has been appointed as a member from the consumer group.


Earlier, the cabinet had been appointing the office bearers and members on the recommendation of the Ministry of Health.
