Organizing a press meet in the capital today, PA Ramesh Mahat announced his resignation after being implicated in the embezzlement of corrugated roofing sheets meant for the quake victims."I have resigned from my post to help in the investigation of the embezzlement of corrugated as the allegation against Finance Minister and me is baseless," said Mahat at the press meet, seeking fair investigation into the case.
Ramesh, who is also the Nuwakot District Secretary of the Nepali Congress, has also urged Prime Minister Sushil Koirala to probe into the case in a fair manner in the resignation.
The dispute has become even worse after an NC cadre thrashed a man for asking question on the embezzlement of corrugated sheets during the press meet organized on Sunday.
