A meeting of the commission chaired by Gauri Bahadur Karki on Thursday decided to impose a travel restriction on Khapung and prohibit him from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without prior approval.
“Since former IGP Chandra Kuber Khapung may be required to appear before the commission at any time for the investigation of the incidents of September 8 and 9, arrangements have been made to restrict his foreign travel effective immediately and to prevent him from leaving the Kathmandu Valley without the commission’s approval,” reads the statement issued by the commission’s spokesperson and former AIG Bigyan Raj Sharma.
