Rajan Kandel, the college's chief executer officer and chairman of Britain Nepal Chambers of Commerce, briefly talked with Repbulica following the launch of their MBA (Executive) program at the British College.

The British College has been providing internationally recognized degrees since its establishment. How important in your views are foreign degrees?

They are very important. Degrees awarded by domestic universities are hardly useful beyond the country's borders. Our internationally recognized qualifications make it easier for students to study and get work abroad. Even if our students choose to work or study within the country, they would be at an advantage over other students because of their skills and qualifications.

How is the recently launched MBA program different from others?

We launched the MBA (Executive) program a week ago. As against other normal MBA programs, only those who have minimum two years of work experience in executive positions can enroll into the program. The program will further hone their management skills and expose them to today's globalized markets through our "local to global" approach. We are currently the only institute that provides this course in Nepal.

How is the college taking "local to global" approach?

Our main objective has been to produce globally competent human resources. To help us accomplish that we have international faculty members teaching latest curriculum. Our students get to attend regular guest lectures and speeches from scholars from the UK and other countries as well as from major companies in Nepal. Students gain valuable multi-cultural experience, which forms an essential part of their learning process. We believe our "local to global" approach has been making a huge difference on our students overall development.
